4 Benefits To A Daily Yoga Practice
I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I started my yoga journey about 23 years ago with a book. The pages were filled with pictures of various poses, accompanied by brief descriptions of what to do, and I’d do my best to replicate it at home. Little did I know at the time that this book would open a long journey that I’d fall in love with.
That yoga book gave me the foundations I needed to get started, but I will say, my practice has grown quite a lot since then. In fact, it's become an essential component of my day. Whether I’m taking a formal class or doing my own flow at home, I find it helps me get in, and stay in, alignment.

4 Benefits To A Daily Yoga Practice
YOGA IS RELAXING
Yoga is completely customizable to your needs. Yes, it has the power to be intense and challenging, but it also has the potential to be very relaxing. I love doing yoga in the evenings as a way to let go of my day, relax my body and get myself ready for bed.
IT CALMS YOUR MIND AND YOUR BODY
To build on the last point, yoga helps to calm your mind and body. Our days get busy, and it can be easy to have our minds run a mile a minute. Yoga connects your mind and your body to your breath, which can help slow down your busy thoughts.
IT HELPS US TO BE MINDFUL
Do you ever find that while you’re in the moment, things can feel pretty overwhelming? But as you step back and really analyze the situation, it doesn’t feel as bad? Yoga can help us step back from the situation to really evaluate what is going on, and be more mindful in our lives.
IT IMPROVES YOUR FLEXIBILITY AND MUSCLE TONE
I’m sure you likely think of this when you think of yoga, but I’d like to touch on it anyways. Yoga is important because it helps to improve your flexibility and muscle tone, which contributes to an overall healthy lifestyle.
